Hello!
Welcome on my brand new site! A psychological test for me to see if I can cope with no more facebook and myspace and loose those hours on a more complete informationsite.
Hopefully I get to update my agenda regularly for you and I'll try to share my intimite tourmoments, if they're not too embarassing ;.)
A big thanks to my brother Dries (www.unfold.be) to help me making this site and coping with all the messed up information I gave him. The site stayed a long time "under construction". Sorry about that but we liked to drink coffee and discussing the fucking ugly cdcovers of some bands more ;.)
All the Juicy-Slimey-jizzle-impro music here are my own trials to get somewhere on the challenging, sometimes awkward line between chaos and beauty.
You'll find also all the recordings I did and more info on the bands I worked with over the past years.
Please find your way to RAT records. The little label Bruno Vansina and me started a few years ago. We're trying to organise some events also. More of that will come the next weeks.
I'm doing shy steps towards drawing again. I'll post sometimes one I think the world can see.
Thank you all my friends for the challenging and fun moments we have and had together. Hopefully we'll have this musical party for the next 143 years to come ...
what is happening now the next weeks-months:
I'll play with two musicians I really respect in a very different way:
Ellery Eskelin and Toots Tielemans. I'm really looking forward to those musical adventures!
I'll record with the trio "Too Noisy Fish" and with Jasper Van't Hof (a dutch Pianoplayer)
I'll do the mixing of the Christian Mendoza band in studio la buisonne france. We're releasing the album in March. I'm particularly happy about this band and this recording. Great combination of musicians, highly inventive writing and a real threat to play with them.
Of course there's the cd release tour with the Jef Neve trio and I'll go for the first time in my live to the states with FES. Peter is writing a piece where we have to shred ourselves. I can't wait to do that! ;.)
last of not least Pierre Vervloesem and his band are going to release CACA! I highly recommand to come and see this band. Pierre is a great musician who brings fire on stage not only with his guitarplaying but especially with his moves on every little accent the music has and his way to be charmingly unpolite towards the public... I can't play because of laughing most of the time ;.)
I am finally getting myself together and am trying to find my way in the labyrinth of 4 harddisks of 500 gigabites of music I recorded the last 6 years with my own projects.
I would like to release a lot of it but have a hard time finding the time to listen to it all and do the right edits and mixing. Thankfully the great Pierre Vervloesem is helping me quite a bit with it. The cd market is going down really quick and I decided to make more exclusive ways to release the music. The concept is not entirely ready , but it's fun to find new ways of making an object (that became for me the symbol of our throw away and consuming society) more valuable.
watch out for releases of :
Nozzle Slag
Othin Spake plus guests (Trevor Dunn, Shelley Burgon, Andrew d'Angelo, Fred Vanhove, Magic Malik, Andrew Claes)
Gowk Live at Sydney
Chaos of the haunted spire studio and live dvd in Melbourne
Duo recordings with Trevor Dunn, Arve Henriksen, Ernst Reijseger, Jasper Stadhouders
well enough (or too much) writing of myself.
Warm Hughs
